First you’ll want to make sure you’ve downloaded the file from your Direct2Drive account. If you’re unsure how to download from D2D please see this Guide for assistance!
Once your game is downloaded and installed, you’ll launch it for the first time using the desktop icon created by your installation.
Once you get the activation screen, hit next to proceed to the Serial entry screen.
NOTE: if you receive a Gamefly branded activation screen, you’ll need to follow the steps in this Guide in order to download a replacement file in order to update your games activation.
Enter the serial found in your My Games tab under Get Product Code, then click Activate in order to communicate with the game server and activate your title. You’ll want to make sure you have an internet connection for when you perform this step. If there is no internet connection the activation process will fail.
To make sure there are no errors when entering your activation key, we recommend highlighting the text with the mouse, then using CTRL+C and CTRL+V to copy and paste the code into the serial field.
If you receive an error stating that your key is not found in the database, it is possible that you mistyped or added a space to the beginning or end of your serial, if your game has multiple keys listed on the account page, try both!
If you are still unable to activate your title, when your activation fails you should be given the option to generate an unlock request code, contact our support staff Here and include your game title and the unlock request code in your email and our staff will be happy to assist you with troubleshooting your activation!
